Books
Welcome to the world of imagination, where anything is possible and dreams really can come true. I'm often asked what inspires me to write, but to be honest, that is a tricky question. When I was younger, I wrote to capture my feelings, experiences and hoped that it would be relatable. As I grew into adulthood, it became about my children and their love for reading. Watching their little imaginations flourish kept the spark inside me alive. Now that I am older and they are all grown, it's more about passion and letting others know they are not alone. Through all the obstacles and hardships that life throws at us, we will still have the power and persistence to endure to the end.
This page contains samples of poetry, short stories, and inner thoughts. Hopefully, you will find something that you can relate to or maybe something that moves you. You can find more poetry, thoughts, and the rest of the stories in my blog section. There is also a donation button at the end of the page, which goes to help other writers discover their dreams. Thank you for taking the time to stop by my page. I hope you find a small piece of yourself along the way.
Stay Blessed, T.C. Turner

Cesalee,
I wonder
I wonder if anyone has ever told her
How beautiful she has remained
Through all the hardships and obstacles
Her essence is unchanged.
She refers to herself as ordinary
Or perhaps just plain
So unaware of how her presence
Shines brightly through the rain.
I wonder, I ponder
If she truly knows
What a remarkable human being she is
With a perfect heart and soul.
From the book "Butterfly"
Obsolete
Souls of the past
Screamed as I passed
While I sunk to the deepest part
Of my own hell.
Memories shattered
Like a coneave mirror
My past erased
I'm an empty shell.
Knelt on the ground
As they pulled and tugged
Draining what little life
I still had.
Inside my head
I scream, shout, and plead
Yet, no one can hear me.
A forced smile
The nod of my head
I stumble to my feet
For another round.
Process and repeat
Day after day
Bound by these chains
That won't set me free.
From the book "Butterfly"
Pavement Flowers

I was viewed as a failure
Because your aristocratic standards were too high
You demanded that I be something I wasn't
Yet, I couldn't fulfill the lie.
The disappointment was apparent
When I glanced into your eyes
Your voice lashed out with a cruel temperament
For a moment, I was traumatized.
Perhaps I was naive
Since I always believed
That one day
You could accept me for being me.
However, I was wrong
My weakness made me strong
Now I've found a new family
A place where I belong.
From the book "Butterfly:
For M.C.D.
As my time nears its end
I wonder if you've truly known
What a pleasure it's been
To watch you grow.
There have been plenty of times
When I doubted myself
Felt like a coward or that I had let you down
Yet, your love always revived me.
I am far from perfect
Even though I have tried my best
I hope that you know
I'd give up everything
For your suffering to be less.
Even if I am nothing more
Then a shadow of memories
Beating at your heart's door
I have loved you completely and unconditionally
Forevermore.
